Web Design Questions
The first question we're usually asked is the toughest to answer as there are so many variables, but we'll give it our best shot...
How much will it cost?
A professional, stylish and effective web site needn't cost the earth - for less than the cost of a weekly advert in a local newspaper for a year, you can reach a far wider audience and provide a valuable online portfolio for your exisiting and prospective customers.
You can expect to pay somewhere between £500 and £700 for a simple web site and anywhere between £800 and £2000+ for a complex site with custom-designed graphics or Flash® animation. The number of pages has little impact on the price.
To give you an example, this sample photography site was fairly labour-intensive, requiring javascript programming, Flash® animation, custom graphics and photo-editing, i.e. re-sizing, cropping and enhancing (check out the photo gallery!). The full design process took one week to complete, and the final cost (including Search Engine Optimisation, setting up of emails, web hosting and domain name registration) was £1500.
Our prices don't carry any hidden extras, and include optimising your site for search engine visibility, domain name registration and one year's web hosting (if you don't already have a web host). We will also set up as many e-mail addresses as you need.

How long will it take?
We usually require a a minimum of one month's notice, and will aim to complete your web site within two weeks. This should give you enough time to compose the content, or 'copy', of your site. We will be happy to assist you with this process,
I already have a website, but it's looking dated...
One of our considerations when designing a website is timlessness. We loved the lime greens that were fashionable a few years ago, but we favour classic colour and design schemes that won't date. We are happy to undertake re-designs, and unlike some other web design companies, we don't insist that we provide hosting for your web site.
How will I know how many visitors my web site gets?
We'll set up monthly reports which will tell you exactly how many visits your site has received, where your visitors have come from, which pages they've viewed, and what search words took them to to your site.
Can you register a domain name for me?
With pleasure. Your choice of domain name is very important, so we've prepared a domain name guide which we hope will help if you're not sure what name you want. We can register a domain name for you today if you follow the link at the end of the guide, and you can even start using your new email address (me@whatever.co.uk) within a few hours!
